Subject: DEC Meeting and Testimonial Dinner - Important Details

Dear Chapter Commanders, Adjutants, Line Officers, PDCs, and DECs,

I trust this memo finds you well. As we eagerly anticipate our upcoming Department Executive Committee Meeting and Commander’s Testimonial Dinner weekend, I would like to provide essential details and reminders for your attention:

Event Details:

• Date: March 15-17, 2024

• Venue: 356 Villa Roma Road, Callicoon, New York 12723

Accommodations:

• Department Headquarters will reserve accommodations for:

  • Past Department Commanders & one guest

  • Department Executive Committee and one guest (alternate if needed)

  • Department Line Officers and one guest

• Please note that for incidentals, your credit card will be required, but the DAV will cover the room and meals for your two-night stay.

Meals Included:

• Friday Night: Dinner

• Saturday: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

• Sunday: Breakfast

Dinner Only Option:

• If you prefer to attend only the testimonial dinner, please inform headquarters of the number of attendees.

• The cost of dinner is $64.90 per person. Exact cost details will be provided later.

• Payment must be made to the department before the event.

Dress Code for Testimonial Dinner:

• Appropriate dinner attire is required, including:

  • Pants, dresses, or skirts

  • Religious attire

  • Appropriate footwear

  • Sport coats, business suits, blazers

  • Ties are optional but recommended.

  • No baseball hats or sweats are allowed. Please dress accordingly.

DEC Meeting and Joint Convocation:

• The DEC Meeting is open to all DAV and DAV Auxiliary members. Only DEC members have a voice and a vote.

• Exception: Anyone may speak on a particular subject or issue with unanimous consent of the body.

• Annual Joint Convocation: Sunday, March 17th at 9:30 a.m. All members are encouraged to attend and share ideas for the best interests of the DAV and DAVA. This is your chance to think outside “the box”!! Subject matter – Anything at all, limited only to the best interests of the DAV. Your new ideas and your participation are more than welcome.

Hospitality Lounge:

• The Hospitality Lounge will be open before the Testimonial Dinner as a gathering place.

Rates and Auxiliary Department:

• Rates for your two-night stay are attached to this memo.

• Another email will follow regarding the AUXILIARY’s Accommodations.

Your cooperation and active participation are crucial for the success of this event. Please mark your calendars and make necessary arrangements.
